Overview
An overlay is a shape or an object that can be added to a map to visually express geographic information. Since an overlay is connected with geographic coordinates on the map, it moves as users zoom in or out the map.
The NAVER Maps API v3 provides various overlays including markers, info windows, shapes and ground overlays, and also allows you to define custom overlays.
